Sidel’s innovative palletising solution revolutionises production at Unilever’s Ploieşti factory

Sidel has supplied Unilever’s Ploieşti, Romania factory with a cutting-edge palletising system. This system, consisting of eight robotic cells connected to 28 packing lines, significantly enhances production efficiency. It includes extensive conveyors, pallet handling shuttles, and stretch wrappers, achieving an impressive production rate of up to 98 pallets per hour.

Operating within Unilever’s Knorr brand, the factory handles a diverse range of dry nutrition products, packaged in various formats. Sidel’s innovative robotic cells, divided into two clusters, ensure optimal efficiency with a robot utilisation rate of 92%.

The integration of the palletising system into Unilever’s digital process streamlines operations, automatically configuring palletisation parameters. Moreover, Sidel’s proposal of a conveying solution with spiral elevators reflects its commitment to flexibility and efficiency in manufacturing processes.

Furthermore, Sidel’s collaboration with sustainability assessment company EcoVadis highlights its dedication to driving sustainable supply chain initiatives, ensuring a holistic approach towards environmental responsibility.
