Spectra Packaging is excited to announce a partnership with MPack Tubes to bring flexible tubes to their extensive range of containers and closures.
After several months of negotiations, the UK based rigid plastics company is delighted to confirm that they will be working alongside the Polish flexible tube manufacturer to significantly increase their existing product offering.
Jonathan Powell Sales Director at Spectra commented, “Due to on-going demand from many of our existing customers, we spent nearly a year researching the feasibility of increasing our offering to include flexible tubes. We’ve exhaustively looked at potential partners to team up with and without doubt the stand out candidate was always MPack. The superior quality of their products and their excellent rapid response service was why we specifically hand selected them as someone to work with. This promises to be a true partnership which will undoubtedly benefit both parties”.
Based in Sobiekursk, close to Warsaw, MPack manufacture stylish high quality flexible tubes to both medium and large size cosmetic, pharmaceutic and food industries in both Europe and the UK, in-house from their bespoke 2,400 sq m plant.
This exciting new alliance will mean Spectra can provide a range of flexible tubes with diameter sizes ranging from 19mm up to 50mm. Additionally, the tubes can also be offered with a range of stunning decorative print finishes, including flexo printing, off-set printing, silk-screen printing and hot foil stamping. Additional services include tamper evident shrink sleeving and induction heat sealing.
In many ways the alliance between MPack and Spectra is a perfect fit as there are striking similarities between the two companies.
Both are relatively young, MPack were formed in 2005, Spectra only two years later in 2007. Both are privately owned and run, both provide a flexible hands on management approach that some would argue has been missing in an ever-increasing corporate climate within the packaging industry, a key factor according to Jonathan Powell.
“We were immediately drawn to the way Mpack does business and the quality of their products. There is definitely a synergy between the two of us. Much like Spectra, they have a “small-enough-to-care” ethos and a genuinely open-minded flexible approach that is aimed at satisfying customer needs through innovation and speed of response”.
However, Jonathan Powell feels there are other factors that have brought the two companies together. One key factor is the growing concern amongst buyers within the packaging industry regarding a lack of choice of suppliers and the need for healthy competition.
“Over recent years we have witnessed a shrinking number of suppliers, particularly for flexible tubes in the UK. A number of customers I have spoken with are genuinely concerned by a lack of diversity of choice in the market due in part to on-going mergers and acquisitions. The opportunity to offer those customers more choice by working with MPack will certainly satisfy a demand and help allay fears of a growing environment of potentially unhealthy competition”.
Indeed, this new partnership will now provide Spectra customers, old and new, with an even bigger product range aimed at providing a full packaging service.
“Many of our customers already enjoy the fact that they can come to us for either standard or custom bottles and caps that can be coloured and decorated in-house. The addition of extremely high quality flexible tubes from Mpack means we can now genuinely boast the complete packaging solution”.
