Spectra recently held a customer open day to commemorate their tenth birthday.
A number of valued customers attended the company’s purpose-built manufacturing plant in Suffolk for a guided tour that also included the unveiling of Spectra’s extended factory, now fully operational after only a year in the making.
Customers were shown around the extended plant which now boasts an additional 24,000 sq ft of factory space, swelling the existing site by 50% and doubling the company’s manufacturing space. Spectra’s guests were also told of the company’s future intentions, with planning permission already gained for a further 24,000 sq ft at their rural location, which is capable of supporting 200,000 sq ft of factory space.
Joe Maynard, Managing Director at Spectra commented, “Our rapid growth hasn’t really given us a chance to catch our breath or take stock. However, an event such as this one provides us with the perfect opportunity to reflect on how far we have come in a such a relatively short period of time”.
The open day gave Spectra the chance to show the development of the company to loyal customers who have supported them during their growth. Always viewing customer collaboration as hugely important, Spectra fully value the partnerships it has forged over the last ten years with its customers. It’s relationships such as these which have played such a key role in the continued success of the company.
Going from strength to strength, year on year, the pace of Spectra’s growth in ten years cannot be underestimated. From the firm’s humble beginnings at their original Broadway Drive site with 12 staff, a handful of blow moulding machines and a turnover of £250k to over 150 employees in a purpose-built facility with a £11m turnover is massively gratifying. However, it has never been Spectra’s intention to stand still and the company is well set for the next exciting chapter according to Joe.
He said, “Spectra is well set for future growth, due in part to the incredible effort of all involved – from our hardworking dedicated staff to our loyal and supportive customer base. Our open day was very much about showing our appreciation to those customers who have bought into our vision and put their trust in us”.
The day was rounded off with drinks and a celebratory evening dinner, where customers and Spectra staff members relaxed and enjoyed an excellent night at a hotel in Bury. St. Edmunds.
As well as Spectra’s customer open day, Spectra have planned a big social day next month with a Norfolk Broads boat trip celebration for staff and their guests.
