Earlier this month, Prevented Ocean Plastic™ was proud to receive a Global Good Award. And that’s not the only recognition that the programme has earned recently.

The Global Good Awards ceremony was held at BMA House in London on October 3rd. These awards recognise organisations and leaders who are achieving practical, real-world impact for people and planet that is both scalable and replicable.

The Global Good Awards take great care to ‘walk the talk’ across all areas of sustainability. In 2018, they were the first awards scheme in the world to be accredited as ‘Outstanding’ by the Awards Trust Mark, retaining it every year since. This year’s ceremony was the 10th in Global Good’s history.

Prevented Ocean Plastic™ partners NEO WTR were awarded bronze in the Best Product of the Year category in the same ceremony. In their own words, “Our mission has always been to create a credible alternative to traditional bottled water, tackling the plastic waste issue head-on. With our bottles made from 100% Prevented Ocean Plastic™, we’re turning ocean-bound waste into a usable, sustainable product. This recognition highlights our commitment to addressing plastic pollution in a meaningful way, beyond just recycling. It’s about creating a circular solution that helps reduce waste at the source.”

Last week, Prevented Ocean Plastic™ was also a finalist in three categories at the UK Packaging Awards. We were highly commended for Corporate Social Responsibility Initiative of the Year. Our submission celebrated our 25 by 2025 mission to open 25 collection centres by the end of 2025, bringing plastic waste management infrastructure to places that need it most. POP Programme Lead, Maxine van Bommel, was also highly commended as a Woman of the Year at the event.
