SAES Coated Films is a high-barrier packaging solutions provider. We design, produce and deposit water-based coatings on plastic or bioplastic films with a proprietary deposition technology, which allows to obtain functional flexible packaging in compliance with the principles of the circular economy.

SAES proprietary coating technology is named COATHINK. Thanks to this specialized process, SAES is able to provide coated films with high gas barrier properties designed for lamination and suitable for food and non-food flexible packaging.
The coating formulation is based on water and it has great versatility. It can be deposited onto a wide range of plastic films (PET, MDO-PE, LDPE, OPA, BOPP) or bioplastic films (Mater-Bi®).
The coating does not use EVOH or PVdC components, and provides oxygen barrier with OTR as low as 0,1 cc/sqm.day.
The coating process is used alone or in combination with metallization or AlOx deposition, to obtain films with high barrier to oxygen and water vapor, with WVTR values as low as 0,5 cc/sqm.day.
COATHINK-coated films can be used in duplex or triplex structures that comply with mono-material design of recyclable packaging.
