Our PROPYLESTER-XE-MDO is a coated and metallized Machine Direction Oriented (MDO) PE film with very high oxygen and moisture barrier properties: OTR < 0,25 cc/sqm.d (23°C / 0%RH) and WVTR < 0,45 g/sqm.d (38°C / 90% RH). The combination of SAES proprietary water-based coating and metallization technology synergically results in unequaled gas barrier properties. With such performance, the film is currently used to replace Alu foil in coffee packaging enabling mono-material structures designed for recycling according to the main international guidelines and PPWR. For example, the film can be laminated with LDPE in duplex structures or be used as the central layer in a triplex structure such as MDO-PE / PROPYLESTER-XE-MDO / LDPE. In all cases, the resulting packaging is a mono-PE solution certifiable for recyclability. The film has proven excellent adhesion and mechanical properties on lamination and packaging lines to form bags, pouches, sachets, stickpacks, and flowpacks.
